Hamilton Peace Award

This award is given to a student who has submitted an essay on World Peace and then was selected by a committee of WOU faculty. After receiving the award the recipient must do the following:
1. Send a copy of their essay to each of the following persons: four ambassadors of foreign embassies in Washington, D.C.; the Secretary General of the United Nations; and the President of the United States.
2. Write a cover letter to those persons to whom the essay is sent urging them to support world peace efforts in their home countries.
3. Propose to any campus peace organization that the members study the essay and discuss how they might expand the effort—such as contacting peace organizations on other campuses, sending letters to other embassies, or talking to their family members.

*Open to current, entering or prospective student pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

*Not open to students engaged in post-graduate study.

*Student must enroll at full time enrollment level to receive the award.
