Esther Head Bojanower Scholarship

About this Scholarship:
Mrs. Esther Head Bojanower received her diploma from Oregon Normal School (now WOU) in 1928. Even though she taught in a small rural school in Oregon for only one year before getting married and moving to Portland, she was a “teacher” throughout her whole life as a librarian, mother, and later a community volunteer in Downey, California, where she and her husband raised their family. When her children left home, Mrs. Bojanower pursued her talents as an artist, before passing away in 2001 at the age of 92. In addition to over 200 paintings, she left a wide circle of friends in Oregon and California.
